Fruit Fiesta at Johor on July 22

Dear Alumni,
Do you like to taste fruits
fresh from the tree?
Malaysia will have a Food
& Fruits Fiesta in July. In conjunction with the Fiesta, The CUHK
Alumni Association will join the Kowloon Club for a 1-day Fruit Farm Tour to
Johor. CUHK alumni members can join by paying Kowloon Club member fee
(which is $10 discount compared with non-member). Our alumni will also be
arranged to board the same coach and sit at same table during lunch.
Date: Sunday, 22/7/2001
Gathering: 8:15 am at Jurong East MRT
Fee: $60 for adults, $50 for children
The itinerary will be as
follows:
Morning:
To Senai to visit a fruit
farm which is famous for its 'honey starfruit'. Then go to Pontiane to
visit a pineapple research institute.
Noontime:
Seafood lunch at Pontiane,
followed by shopping there. At the seaside one can see Pulau Pisang (or Bannana
Island) on which there is a lighthouse that sometimes caused dispute between
Singapore and Malaysia.
Afternoon:
Go to Pakan Nanas to visit a
farm growing roselle and you will receive a bottle of roselle juice for
free. Then visit a durian farm to eat fresh durian.
Evening:
Shopping and dinner at Giant
Hypermarket. Return to Jurong East MRT at around 9:00 pm.
Note:
Fees include - Aircon coach,
tour guide, lunch, entrance to fruit farm, tasting of durian
Fees do not include -
Dinner, visa(if any), insurance.
There is no need to pay
tips.
