Liability Disclaimer

From time to time, the Chinese University of Hong Kong Alumni Association Australia Inc (‘CUHKAAA’) organises activities that are open to its members.  On many occasions, members’ families and their friends may join the activities.  The CUHKAAA does not have the insurance cover to those non-member participants.

The CUHKAAA takes every effort to address any reasonably foreseeable concerns over the safety and/or well-being of any individual participating in the activities organised by the alumni association, and to take such measures to alleviate the concerns as may reasonably be practicable in the circumstances. 

Any non-member who participates in the activity hereby agrees that:

• Participation is voluntary;

• The individual makes every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and as explained to the them verbally, and will seek for clarification when needed;

• Safety always remains their personal responsibility and priority;

• They will therefore act reasonably to minimise accident occurrence; and

• In the event of accident or mishap not attributable to the act or omission of the Alumni Association, its officers or Volunteer, they will not hold the latter responsible for any injury, damage, loss and/or any injury, damage, loss and/or any consequences thereof they may sustain.

All non-member participants engaging in activities held in open area/ public arena such as picnics, sports fun day etc. are required to complete and sign the liability disclaimer form prior to the start of the activity.
