After serving in the Environmental Protection Department of the HK government, he embarked on an academic and research journey, dedicating four decades to the study of red tide and becoming a leading expert in the area. His research later extended to the polar regions, taking him to both Arctic and Antarctic more than 30 times. Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to advancing research, he donated million dollars from his retirement savings to establish the Bauhinia Station of the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong in the Arctic. At the age of 60, he ventured into entrepreneurship for the first time, transforming red tide-causing microalgae into tools for purifying water✨. KC’s story has shown how a lifelong commitment to discovery can make a meaningful impact. “Similar to life, scientific research resembles a winding path which is not an easy journey, but as long as you put your heart into it, you will definitely find meaning in it.” 🧪 📖 訪問全文 Full Interview：https://alumni.cuhk.edu.hk/zh-hk/alumni-story/%e3%80%90issue127%e3%80%91ho-kin-chung/ 🎬 立即睇片 Watch now： https://youtu.be/-AGb-0c_NDA 𝙁𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙊𝙒 𝙐𝙎: 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 / 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 / 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣 / 𝙒𝙚𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙩 / 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙏𝙪𝙗𝙚 🔍 @𝙘𝙪𝙝𝙠𝙖𝙖𝙤 #中大 #中大校友 #CUHK #CUHKAlumni #CUAlumniMagazine @newasiacollege
